First-round co-leader Camille Boyd followed her opening 66 with a 3-under 69 on Wednesday to move to 9-under 135 and take a one-shot lead at the halfway point of the LPGA Qualifying Series' Qualifying Stage at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla. The 198-player field is chasing a top-55-and-ties finish to advance to the Final Qualifying Stage in Mobile, Ala.

China's Wenbo Liu posted the low round among the leaders, a 5-under 67, to climb from T10 into a tie for second at 8-under 136.

Four players are tied for third at 7-under, including amateur Eila Galitsky. The South Carolina junior shot a 4-under 68 and said her ball striking carried her through two rounds on tricky greens.

“It's been my dream since I was a little kid to play on the LPGA,” said Galitsky. “It's a tough decision not to finish all four years, but this is what I've been dreaming of since I was a little kid, and I'm trying to chase it.”

LPGA Tour member Juniper Jang backed up her opening 67 with a 2-under 70 despite firmer greens on the Panther Course. “My putter wasn't dropping as much as it did yesterday, so I had to be patient until the end. Two dropped at the end, so I'm happy about that,” said Jang.

First-round co-leader Brooke Biermann added a 1-under 71 to stay in the mix at 7-under, and Madison Young was in one of the final parings of the day, but shot 7-under on her round to join Wenbo Liu in a tie for second at 8-under.
